What Is Ardenglen Housing Association?
Ardenglen Housing Association provides good quality rented accommodation in Castlemilk. We were formed in 1990 thanks to the dedicated efforts of local tenants who were determined to bring change to their local area and to be involved with the improvement and management of their homes.

Ardenglen is a non-profit making charity registered with Communities Scotland and the Register of Friendly Societies. Communities Scotland has a supervising role to ensure that the Association is properly managing and maintaining its houses and providing an excellent service to tenants.

What do we do?
We provide good quality accommodation for rent and look after the surrounding environment so that the area always looks its best. Our aim is to keep Ardenglen a safe and pleasant place for people to live and work.

The security of our tenants is of particular importance to us and we have CCTV and other safety features in the area. We may be able to assist you with safety measures – whether for you personally or for your property. Ask your housing officer for details.

Membership
Membership is open to anyone living or working in our local area who has an interest in the work of the Association. Membership costs £1 and entitles the shareholder to vote at our Annual General Meeting or any Special Meetings which may be called. Shareholders can also stand for election to the Management Committee.

Who manages us?
The Management Committee: Ardenglen Housing Association is managed by local people who are elected by members of the Association on an annual basis.

They are responsible for making decisions on all aspects of the Association’s work. They employ staff to ensure that their decisions are carried out on a day-to-day basis.

They meet monthly to discuss the Association business and monitor the standard of service being delivered by the Association.

If you want to be involved in the Committee please call us and ask for the Housing Manager or Director. We would be pleased to meet with you for an informal chat about joining the Committee.

Not Just a Landlord
Ardenglen continues to grow, not only in size but also in the kind of things we do. For example, we have always been involved in non-housing issues and in particular trying to create employment in our local community. We also work closely with other agencies to maximise training opportunities for our tenants and their families as well as providing advice and assistance to local community groups.

Ardenglen is about more than the bricks and mortar of our houses. It is equally about making sure people in our neighbourhood feel good about where they live, learn work and play.

We will therefore guarantee that Ardenglen will be actively involved in every initiative, project and action which contributes to our aim of "making Ardenglen a pleasant place to live".
